Eastern Cape: NGIRI Wild Game Reserve
The closest airport to our own hunting grounds, NGIRI Wild Game Reserve, is Port Elizabeth Airport, where we will pick you up in our Safari Jeep. Travel time to the reserve is approximately 1.5 hours. Port Elizabeth Airport is flown to multiple times daily from Johannesburg or Cape Town. NGIRI Wild Game Reserve is located approximately 80 km northeast of Port Elizabeth, at the foot of the Oliphants Kop Pass, nestled in the picturesque plains of the Karoo and the riverbeds of the Bushman River. The diversity of the vegetation is the reason for the settlement of an astonishing variety of antelopes from Southern Africa, as it provides feed for both – grazers and browsers.
Our reserve is home to Steenbok, Grey Duiker, Impala, Springbok, Bushbuck, Blesbok, Nyala, Gemsbok, Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, Plains Zebra, Red Hartebeest, Waterbuck, and Eland, as well as Cape Buffalo and Sable Antelope.
Trophy hunting is possible year round, and we offer management hunts from May to August. To hunt in Africa there is no minimum age for participation. As the owner of the private hunting reserve and registered outfitter, we guide our international hunting clients with passion and respect for nature to a successful hunt.
In our own butchery, all hunted game is professionally processed and subsequently made into biltong, specialties such as ham, salami, or pâté, or prepared for use in the meals for our guests. Our own employees also receive game meat or meat from our farm operations. Besides hunting wild animals, we grow oats, teff grass, and lucerne on our land. Fruit trees and a large year-round vegetable and herb garden, goats, sheep, cattle, and chickens complete our farm operations, making us almost self-sufficient.
After a successful hunt, our guests relax in the modern, African-style furnished thatched-roof chalets. Every comfort is provided, including a mini-bar, air conditioning, towel warmer and walk-in closet with a wall safe. Daily laundry and cleaning service is included, as well as free Wi-Fi. Our chef prepares delicious African and international dishes from the best ingredients every day and spoils you with refreshing drinks from the bar. Many sporting activities, sunbathing by the heated pool, or professional massages add variety during hunting breaks.
In addition to regular hunting operations, we also offer, among other things, bird hunting, night hunting trips, and deep-sea fishing trips to Port Elizabeth.
